Three widely disparate stories come together in this feature film that touches on themes of penance, ignorance and loss in the context of American society. Alternating between the comic and tragic, the segments are linked by overlapping characters and thematic content. Director Anthony (Chusy) Haney-Jardine shot the film in Asheville, N.C., and employed mostly nonprofessional actors, with an exception being his daughter Perla Haney-Jardine.
