Thanks to good grades and inspiring teachers, Charlie Velasquez (James Martinez) has a college scholarship and a promising future ahead of him -- that is, until he and his friends (Paul Sado and Autumn Dornfeld) uncover a small-town secret that's forced its way to the surface. Director Brad Coley marks his feature-film debut with this sobering, mainly improvised tale of cause, effect and affected adolescence.
